Brothers and Sisters,
I answered your call, returning to my native lands with the hope of contributing to the rebirth of our spirit here. I tried to share our vision with others, to invite young souls to join us. But I'm hitting a wall of bitter reality.
I remember the enthusiasm around Rațiu, a voice of decency and hope, but the people chose another path, letting themselves be seduced by empty promises. I know, we know, we swore to avoid politics, but how can we ignore this context that affects us all? We see how the youth, the saplings of our country, are leaving en masse, suffocated by the squalor and lack of prospects here.
Even if I find a young person with potential, a brilliant mind that could embrace our quest, I fear that in a few years I will see them leaving across the oceans, drawn by academic opportunities and a better life in distant lands. Of course, we have recruits scattered throughout the world, but our desire was to restart, to rekindle the flame right here, at home.
It's as if the words of Father Arsenie Boca, from our last meetings, echo in my mind with a strange resonance. He spoke of a shield of flames that would cover Romania, of how the world's eyes would turn towards us, and of a rebirth from the ashes. But looking around, I see only a country in decline, with destroyed industry, with an uncertain future.
I struggle with a sense of disappointment. Where do we find that spark, that thirst for truth amidst this exodus and general disinterest? How can we convince young people to stay and fight for something deeper in a country that seems to be abandoning its own potential?
I eagerly await your thoughts and perspectives. Perhaps you see a light that I, at this moment, cannot discern.
